Ginger Lemon Recipe for Your Daily Morning Routine

Throughout this year, there’s been one habit I’ve maintained consistently – starting my day with a warm glass of lemon water on an empty stomach. More recently, I’ve introduced ginger into the mix, as I wanted additional anti-inflammatory and immunity-boosting properties for the fall season. The reason I enjoy warm lemon water is its detoxification benefits, supporting bowel movements, and providing much-needed hydration. It feels comforting and has become an enjoyable morning ritual that I look forward to daily. Plus, it’s a touch more intriguing than sipping plain water or grabbing that early morning coffee (and should be avoided on an empty stomach). If you’re not certain about keeping up with the full recipe, I still recommend squeezing the juice of half to a whole lemon into some warm (but not boiling) water and adding a pinch of Celtic salt or minerals of your choice.

Key Benefits

  • Detoxification
  • Supports bowel movements
  • Provides hydration
  • Vitamin C
  • Immune support
  • Anti-inflammatory properties
  • Helps reduce bloating

The Easiest Recipe Yet

Ingredients

  • Filtered Water
  • Lemons
  • Ginger
  • Celtic Salt

Optional Add-ins

  • Turmeric + Black Pepper (be cautious, turmeric stains)
  • Cayenne

How to Prepare It

  1. Blend ginger and water in a blender. If your ginger is organic, you can leave the skin on, provided you’ve washed it thoroughly.
  2. Strain the ginger pulp. I personally use a versatile French press for straining, which I also employ for my coffee and tea.
  3. Alternatively, you can use a cheesecloth to strain or press out the liquids with a spoon.
  4. Extract the juice from all the lemons.
  5. Combine the ginger water and lemon juice, and add extra water to fill your container.
  6. Finish with a couple of pinches of Celtic salt.

Et voilà! You’re ready to go.

A Little Tip

I usually prepare enough to last a week. To enjoy, pour a small amount of the ginger lemon concentrate into a glass (it can also be taken as a shot) and top it up with warm water. Consume it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.

Don’t Waste the Pulp

I highly recommend saving the leftover ginger pulp in your fridge and incorporate it into other meals throughout the week.

You can use it to brew ginger tea. Just add the pulp to your French press, pour boiling water over it, let it steep for 10-15 minutes, and you’ll have a wonderful cup of ginger tea.

Additionally, you can get creative and incorporate the leftover pulp into your meals. Use it to enhance yogurt bowls, stews, fish dishes, dressings, smoothies, or bake with it. Minimize waste, get the added benefits of consuming it and enjoy the flavor!

Incorporating this ginger lemon water recipe into your morning routine can be a refreshing and healthful way to start your day. The added ginger provides an extra boost to your overall well-being, making it a perfect choice for the fall season. Give it a try and enjoy all the benefits it offers.

I’ve been doing this for weeks and couldn’t be happier with the results! I always feel energized and ready for the day.

Additionally, the added bonus of having extra pulp for days afterwards works wonderfully for a quick tea when I need it.

    Thank you for the recipe!
